Hand Baked Records brings you an action packed CD of 8 bit breaks, beats, and blips. What?s it all about? Well, the CD falls under the genre of chip tunes; using retro video game consoles and obsolete computers to make music in a contemporary style. Even the imagery printed on to the CD was created using a Gameboy by visual artist Pikilipita.com. The tracks selected for this compilation were picked because of their unique qualities and individual style. They were written by many great underground chip tune artists, sourced from across the world and spanning various sub-genres of electronic music.
The concept behind the release was to create an awesome soundtrack for playing your most loved retro computer games to. The opening track by E:LF (Hand Baked?s founder and owner of the Hand Baked Arcade) brings you straight up hardcore action with raging beats and race car bass lines; to the grand finale of The Disco King's bouncy anthem "You Be My Princess Peach". For anyone that has ever held a Gameboy, played an Atari, or touched a Mega Drive controller, this new wave of nostalgia is not to be missed.
